Feeding America is a hunger relief organization that works with local communities and food banks to help reach those in need. It is the largest network of its kind in the United States. While Feeding America seeks donations and raises funds to provide meals, the company also began an initiative to rescue high-quality food from spoiling and going to landfills. In 2020, Feeding America and its partners saved over 4 billion pounds of groceries, including 1.8 billion pounds of fresh produce. According to the organization’s website, nearly 40 percent of all food in America goes to waste. Feeding America is working to stop this trend and save food that could provide hunger relief to communities across the country.
